In Brooklyn in the 1880's with John J. Gallagher Funeral Home was originally located on North 8th Street. The second location was later established on Aberdeen Street in Brooklyn.

In the 1920's, John's son Arthur continued the family tradition by establishing a Funeral Home in Richmond Hill, Queens. The Arthur A. Located on the service road of the Van Wyck Expressway this facility served the community for over 60 years.
